This website has been created to preserve the family legacy and history that is captured in the letters Randall Lance Rhodes sent during his service in the first world war.

Over the years the descendants of Lance Rhodes have all been very proud of his service for his country. Three generations on there is still a lot of interest in this very important part of the family history and Australian history.

Approximately 10 years ago, the letters were transcribed to soft copy by Lance’s granddaughter Helen. Now his great grandchildren are working on this website.

The letters will be posted in ‘real’ time exactly 100 years on.
