Today a big portion of our trenches were taken over by the 12th, and we had to move further round towards the left. It was a lovely job lugging all my gear about.
I noticed today that Morris Hains was killed, first I knew he had ever enlisted.
I have a slush lamp burning. It is made out of a cigarette tin. A tube is made out of a piece of tin from a milk tin, a wick is made out of a piece of rifle rag. I managed to cadge a little kerosene, and there you are.
The weather is still keeping perfect. It is just lovely in the morning sunlight. Now and again you hear a lark singing, especially in the evenings. We have lovely sunsets.
