We have had the Suffolk alongside all day transferring stores, and in consequence we didn’t go ashore. The harbor is looking fairly full with all these new arrivals. We are not the flag ship now. Head Quarters are on the “Malda”, so we won’t get our letters so soon. I did one short trip to the shore this afternoon in charge of a boat. I am getting quite a nautical man, I like messing about with the boats very much. Our boat was hanging astern by her painter which was tied to a rope ladder. To get her I had to climb down the swinging ladder, and swing there and pull the boat up about 15 feet before I could get her, and as it was fairly rough, it was rather a ticklish job.
